Basic Oxygen Concentrator & Supply Maintenance
​Suggested Timeline for Changing O2 Supplies
Nasal Cannulas / Masks

Replace weekly.
Ear Cushions, Swivel Connectors, and Humidifier Tubing

Replace monthly.
Water Traps
-
Empty daily, or as needed, by twisting or pulling open the water trap tube.

Position the water trap near the nasal cannulas, not near the humidifier bottle.

Replace monthly.
Humidifier Bottle
-
Use only distilled water.
-
Ensure the lid is properly threaded to prevent leaks.

Wash weekly with soap and warm water.
-
Replace monthly.
Green Oxygen Tubing
-
Replace every other month.
Additional Tips
-
Do not submerge the concentrator in water.

Keep liquids away from the concentrator.

Maintain at least 6-12 inches of clearance from walls, furniture, and curtains to allow proper airflow.

Keep away from heat sources or open flames.
-
Do not smoke or allow others to smoke near the oxygen concentrator.
Cleaning the Oxygen Concentrator:

Clean the exterior of the oxygen concentrator once per week.

Before cleaning, unplug the concentrator from the power source.

Use a vacuum to remove dust from the vents to prevent airflow obstruction.

Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth using a solution of mild dishwashing soap and warm water.

Allow the concentrator to air dry, or dry it with a lint-free cloth, before plugging it back in.
Stationary and Portable Oxygen Concentrator Filters:

External Particle Filters - Clean weekly by rinsing with warm water. Allow them to air dry completely before reinstalling.

Internal Filters - Internal filters for both stationary and portable units should be changed every two years and can be requested as needed.
